The 89660 HDP5000 is one of the most affordably priced reverse transfer printers on the market today. It’s also the most efficient, with improvements at every level. Simple operation requires only minimal training. Cards, ribbons and overlaminates literally load in a snap via the cartridge based system. Sharp image quality and new half-panel ribbons make High Definition Printing even more economical. Fast printing, combined with a dual card input hopper for multiple card types help you fly through the biggest production jobs.
Reverse Image Transfer (Re-Transfer) Card Printing Technology
This ID card printer utilizes “Re-Transfer” printing technology, which diffuses ink (in the form of a ribbon) to a dye receptive film known as a “transfer film”. Once all necessary colors have been applied to the transfer film, it is then fused to a blank PVC or Composite card material. This two-step printing process allows for a high definition “over the edge” printed card. Since the transfer process is not limited by a fixed printhead, but rather utilizes the flexible transfer film material, the re-transfer method is ideal for highly detailed imagery (up to 600dots/in), which can be applied to uneven surfaces such as ID cards with embedded electronic chips (smart cards). Along with advanced printing definition and overall card coverage, the lifespan of a re-transfer printhead is dramatically increased by the lack of contact with the card substrate.

Dual Sided ID Card Printing
With a dual sided printing module, This ID card printer can automatically print on both sides of a PVC or Composite card.
Single Sided Lamination
This ID card printer incudes a single sided lamination module, which allows you to apply a variety of different laminates (clear, generic holographic, custom holographic, etc.) to only one side of the card.
