Thales (Gemalto) AT10Ki Intelligent Document Reader with RFID
Details
Intelligent passport and document scanning for connected identity workflows
The Thales Gemalto Intelligent Document Reader AT10Ki inspects, authenticates, and captures data from electronic travel and identity documents quickly and reliably, especially in cloud and virtual computing environments.
Built on field experience and numerous deployed projects, the AT10Ki combines intuitive document placement, embedded processing, secure networking, and flexible deployment options in one stylish document reader.
With onboard Linux® processing, Web-API connectivity, encrypted JSON messaging, USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth® interfaces, the AT10Ki is designed for organizations that need powerful document authentication without unnecessary IT complexity.
Ready for cloud, SaaS, and enterprise applications
The AT10Ki is part of the Gemalto Intelligent “i” Series, designed for modern environments where enterprise applications, Software as a Service platforms, mobile devices, and virtual computing workflows all need to connect securely.
With an embedded Arm® processor running Linux®, document processing can be performed directly on the reader in networked mode. This helps reduce workstation dependency and simplifies deployment across connected environments.
The reader uses web-style encrypted JSON messaging, a Web-API host interface, a Web-UI browser interface, and legacy USB modes to support easier application development, deployment, diagnostics, and long-term maintenance.
Powerful document processing, built directly into the reader.
- Embedded dual-core Arm® Cortex® A9 processor
- Linux® operating system on the reader
- Web-API host interface and Web-UI browser interface
- Encrypted JSON messaging for secure communication
- Direct connection to SaaS and enterprise applications
- Lower development and lifetime IT costs
Scanning passports has never been so easy
The AT10Ki uses a “landing lights” LED feedback arrangement that naturally encourages correct document placement and reader use, regardless of whether the user is left-handed or right-handed.
Combined with the optional document hold-down clip, this intuitive design helps maximize first-time read rates, improve customer processing speed, and reduce frustration at the point of service.
Correct placement. Faster reads. Less frustration.
- Landing lights LED feedback guides document placement
- Tick and cross user LEDs provide clear status feedback
- Optional document spine hold-down clip
- Designed to improve first-time read rates
Stylish design for customer-facing spaces
Thales designed the AT10Ki with a modern, polished look that fits comfortably into high-end service desks and customer-facing environments.
Its combination of style, ease of use, and powerful document authentication makes it a strong fit for organizations that need security technology to feel professional, not intimidating.
Serious authentication power with a service-desk-ready design.
- Modern appearance for upmarket service desks
- Intuitive document placement and reading experience
- User-removable hood for flexible operation
- Hoodless operation in most environments
Flexible connectivity for modern deployments
The AT10Ki can connect to mobile devices, phones, tablets, enterprise back-end systems, SaaS applications, hotel property management systems, and biometrics management platforms.
It can also be used in pool mode, allowing multiple devices to connect to the reader, or allowing a single computer to connect to multiple readers.
- Connects to mobile devices, phones, and tablets
- Pool mode supports multiple device connections
- A single computer can connect to multiple readers
- Flexible install options for complex environments
Advanced document imaging and authentication
The AT10Ki reads and images multiple document types using visible, infrared, and ultraviolet light, with 24-bit color and true-color image matching technology for vibrant, accurate document images.
Captured images can be saved in BMP, PNG, or JPEG format, supporting a wide range of application and recordkeeping needs.
Visible, infrared, and ultraviolet imaging for stronger document authentication.
- Visible, infrared, and ultraviolet imaging
- 24-bit color and true-color image matching
- Images saved in BMP, PNG, or JPEG format
- Anti-glare technology reduces artifacts from laminates and OVDs
Reads documents and barcodes in any orientation
The AT10Ki reads ID cards and barcodes placed at any rotation on the glass, then presents the images correctly based on document features.
This helps reduce placement errors and makes the reader easier to use in busy customer-facing environments.
- Reads ID cards placed at any rotation
- Reads barcodes placed at any rotation
- Presents images correct way up
- Auto-triggering detects the presence of a document
MRZ, barcode, and boarding pass capture
The AT10Ki supports OCR data capture of the Machine Readable Zone and reads 1D and 2D barcodes from paper and mobile boarding passes.
This makes it useful for travel, hospitality, visitor processing, and other environments where documents and mobile credentials need to be captured quickly.
Paper documents, passports, IDs, and mobile boarding passes, all in one workflow.
- OCR data capture of the MRZ
- 1D and 2D barcode reading
- Reads paper boarding passes
- Reads mobile boarding passes
Built for lower IT burden
Because document processing is performed on the reader in networked mode, the AT10Ki can help simplify application architecture and reduce development and lifetime IT costs.
Full management and diagnostic interfaces give teams the tools they need to support, monitor, and maintain deployments more effectively.
- Document processing carried out on the reader
- Full management interfaces
- Full diagnostic interfaces
- Designed to simplify deployment and maintenance
Durable for everyday document capture
The AT10Ki uses low-scratch, low-iron glass with an oleophobic coating for easier cleaning and lower maintenance.
Chemically strengthened glass improves durability, while the internally sealed optical chamber helps prevent dust ingress.
Built to look sharp, scan clearly, and stand up to everyday use.
- Low-scratch, low-iron glass
